Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 18, 2026.
These Terms and Conditions explain the basic rules for using BeastAtlas. They are written to be clear and understandable and are not legal advice. Please read them together with the BeastAtlas Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using BeastAtlas, visitors agree to use the website in accordance with these terms. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the site. Parents, guardians, and teachers are encouraged to guide younger visitors when they explore wildlife information or follow links to external websites.
About BeastAtlas
BeastAtlas is an independent educational wildlife website. It offers animal profiles, maps, habitat information, comparisons, regional guides, and other material intended to make wildlife learning engaging and family-friendly. The project may develop new formats and features over time, but it does not currently offer user accounts, direct sales, subscriptions, or an online shop.
Educational Use
BeastAtlas content provides general educational and informational context. It is not professional scientific, medical, legal, travel, veterinary, emergency, or wildlife-safety advice. Visitors should use appropriate current sources and qualified local professionals for research, travel planning, emergencies, or decisions involving animals, health, property, or personal safety.
Intellectual Property
BeastAtlas text, guides, maps, illustrations, images, videos, characters, logos, branding, visual design, and original educational material are protected by applicable intellectual-property rules unless stated otherwise. Third-party material remains the property of its respective owner. Nothing on the website grants ownership of BeastAtlas material, branding, or creative work to a visitor.
Permitted Use
Visitors may read and view BeastAtlas for personal, non-commercial learning, share links to public pages, and refer to the website in ordinary classroom or educational discussion. Teachers and students may cite a page in the same way they would cite another web resource. Limited quotations should use appropriate attribution and should not reproduce a substantial part of a guide or misrepresent its meaning.
Prohibited Use
Visitors may not copy, republish, sell, license, or commercially exploit BeastAtlas material without permission. Unauthorized scraping, bulk downloading, automated extraction, dataset creation, impersonation, removal of attribution, misuse of logos or branding, misleading reproduction, interference with website operation, attempts to bypass security, and unlawful use are prohibited. These restrictions do not prevent normal search-engine indexing or ordinary linking that helps people find public BeastAtlas pages.
External Links and Platforms
BeastAtlas may link to useful external sources or possible future platforms. External websites are controlled by their own operators and have separate terms, privacy practices, content standards, and technical policies. A link does not guarantee that another website will remain available, accurate, secure, or suitable for every visitor, and visitors should review the external operator's information before using its services.
YouTube and Other Media
BeastAtlas may later link to documentary videos, cartoon videos, or other educational media connected with future BeastAtlas projects, including content that might be hosted on YouTube. Any future media platform would apply its own terms, privacy practices, age guidance, and viewing rules.
Future Affiliate Links, Advertising, and Sponsorships
BeastAtlas may later use affiliate links, advertising, or sponsorships to support continued development. Future affiliate links may allow BeastAtlas to earn a commission without increasing the visitor's purchase price. Affiliate, advertising, or sponsored relationships will be disclosed when applicable. Advertising or an external link does not automatically mean BeastAtlas endorses a product, seller, service, organization, or claim.
Purchases Through Third-Party Platforms
BeastAtlas may later link to merchandise, books, products, or other projects offered through third-party platforms such as Amazon or Etsy. Purchases on external platforms would be transactions with those platforms or sellers, not direct purchases from BeastAtlas. Their purchasing rules, delivery policies, refunds, taxes, warranties, and customer support would apply.
Feedback, Corrections, and Communications
Factual corrections, reliable source suggestions, image concerns, and constructive website feedback are welcome. Submitting a suggestion does not guarantee publication, a particular change, credit, compensation, or a response. BeastAtlas may review, verify, edit, decline, or use feedback to improve its material. Visitors should not send confidential or unnecessary sensitive information by email.
Website Availability and Changes
BeastAtlas may update, remove, correct, replace, or reorganize content, links, features, and page structures as the project develops. The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, hosting changes, or events beyond reasonable control. Continuous access to every page or feature cannot be guaranteed.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Responsibility
Visitors are responsible for how they use general BeastAtlas information and should not rely on it for urgent, high-risk, or location-specific decisions. Wildlife ranges, conditions, and knowledge can change. BeastAtlas aims to improve its material but cannot promise that every page will always be complete, current, or free of mistakes. More detail is available in the Disclaimer.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains current information practices, email communications, technical hosting information, and how the policy may change if new services are introduced. Visitors should review the Privacy Policy for current practices and future updates as new services are introduced.
Changes to These Terms
BeastAtlas may revise these terms when the website, project features, or relevant practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update means visitors should review and follow the revised terms from that point forward.
Contact BeastAtlas
Questions about these terms, permission requests, corrections, or other communications can be sent through the Contact page or by emailing hello@beastatlas.com.
